MAPS Anabolic was founded by Sal Di Stefano and Doug Egge in 2013 in response to the discovery of a truly unique, science-based muscle building protocol that produces tremendous muscle growth in otherwise “hardgainer” men.
Initially Doug was Sal’s client, sent to him by his chiropractor to correct muscle imbalances that were causing him lower back pain. Doug had worked out diligently to build muscle since age 16 but his results had always been disappointing despite reading and applying expert fitness advice and taking recommended supplements. In his late 40s, he thought the window of opportunity to build significant muscle was closed.
After a few months of training with Sal, his body had changed and he was stronger than he had ever been before. He was elated by his results but little did he know the best was yet to come.
During this time Sal had been researching the science of muscular adaptation and was questioning many long-standing bodybuilding “truths”. Building muscle is an adaptive response that takes place when a person’s body is being signaled that building muscle is in its best interest. Sal surmised that the difference between people in the gym who were building muscle and those that weren’t was simply the strength of this signal. He hypothesized that if workouts and nutrition were tailored to stimulate and “turn up the volume” of the muscle building signal a person would get far better results than would come from just from blindly working out hard.
Sal then designed a workout protocol that strategically combined several proven elements known to trigger the muscular adaptation signal. After just a week of testing the new protocol he got noticeable results. He then introduced the protocol to a few key clients and the response was universal… it worked and it worked really well. It was then that he realized he had a truly remarkable, game changing discovery on his hands.
This is where Doug came into the picture. Doug was one of the first clients that began applying the protocol. He was shocked by the changes he saw weekly in his body and quickly realized it was the most effective muscle building program he had ever done. Doug, with a background in web-based program development and design approached Sal about making his breakthrough program available to the hundreds of thousands of men around the world who were frustrated by poor muscle gains.
Together they created the Muscular Adaptation Program System, or more simply, MAPS. MAPS is a comprehensive online training portal that allows anyone around the world to be trained in this breakthrough protocol by Sal who spells out and demonstrates the system, step-by-step through dozens of videos, supporting documents and ongoing support.
